Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (VCCTravels)

I was planning to treat my brother Charlie James as he is graduating his 2nd course and also thanking him for always being with my mother. He has not traveled outside the Philippines so this would be a good gift for him. After booking tickets, hotels and planning itinerary, I realized why not inviting my sister Courteney to join us in this trip and gladly she agreed after she filed a leave from work. We will be going to KL then Siem Reap then Ho Chi Minh City.

From November 16 - 18, 2016 and flown using Cebu Pacific Airlines with a very affordable price.

From Laguindingan International Airport (CGY)

To Kuala Lumpur International Airport

Let's start with Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As per wikipedia:
Kuala Lumpur (/ˈkwɑːləˈlʊmpʊər/ or /-pər/Malaysian pronunciation: [ˈkwalə ˈlumpʊr]),[6] officially the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur, is the national capital of Malaysia as well as its largest city. The city covers an area of 243 km2(94 sq mi) and has an estimated population of 1.7 million as of 2015.[7] Greater Kuala Lumpur, also known as the Klang Valley, is an urban agglomeration of 7.2 million people as of 2013.[8] It is among the fastest growing metropolitan regions in South-East Asia, in terms of population and economy.

Their currency is the MALAYSIAN RINGGIT, although the exchange rate in the airport is not that good, you still need just incase you need any urgent purchase like a simcard.

It would be best to purchase a simcard, not just for communication but to avail data packages that would help you in navigating the area rather than asking a lot of questions.

We stayed in CORUS HOTEL KUALA LUMPUR which is strategically located 5 minutes walk to the iconic Petronas Twin Towers. I booked through Booking.com originally a deluxe room for 2 pax but since my sister joined us, we just add extra bed. It's a very convenient place since for it's location and it also is known to many as it is one of the oldest hotel in KL. The room is clean and comfortable so I really recommend for you to book in this hotel.

I was supposed to avail the Hop In Hop Off but ended up doing our own way. The night we arrived after checking in, we went directly to KLCC mall to have dinner. After roaming around their massive food court, we changed route and had dinner in Chili's.

After dinner, since the mall is already closing, we went outside to see the lights of the famous PETRONAS TOWER.
As per Wikipedia, this is also known as the Petronas Twin Towers (MalayMenara Petronas, or Menara Berkembar Petronas), are twin skyscrapers in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. According to the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH)'s official definition and ranking, they were the tallest buildings in the world from 1998 to 2004 and remain the tallest twin towers in the world. The buildings are a landmark of Kuala Lumpur, along with nearby Kuala Lumpur Tower.

Next day, November 17, 2016, we woke up early to go experience the Batu Caves. (wikipedia) Is a limestone hill that has a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor, Malaysia. It takes its name from the Sungai Batu (Batu River), which flows past the hill and also it is the tenth (Pattu in Tamil) limestone hill from Ampang. Batu Caves is also the name of a nearby village.
The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, and is dedicated to Lord Murugan
During the time of our visit, they are undergoing construction but nevertheless, we climbed the steep stairs of 272 concrete steps. The view is nice and literally breathtaking because I'm out of breath after climbing it without breakfast.

with the ongoing construction

I just realized we didn't have a picture due to exhaustion, it was raining the day before but humid the day after.

Next stop, Central Market.
Central Market Kuala Lumpur is located at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock (Foch Avenue) and the pedestrian-only section of Jalan Hang Kasturi (Rodger Street), a few minutes away from Petaling Street. It was founded in 1888 and originally used as a wet market,[1] while the current Art Deco style building was completed in 1937. It has been classified as a Heritage Site by the Malaysian Heritage Society and it is now a landmark for Malaysian culture and heritage.

This is a good place to buy souvenirs but this is not the cheapest place. They said it's the Little China but since of limited time we just decided buying here and also managed to have breakfast.

While walking around Central Market, we have seen from outside a 3D ILLUSION MUSEUM. Basically a trick eyed museum.

My brother and sister are good in portraying with photos but I'm always the conscious type, see for yourself.

We then went back to the hotel to rest so we can have energy for the night. We went to the Menara tower and planned to go up there but due to the big crowd, I easily got irritated and decided not to go up. Maybe it could have been better if we booked online ahead of time or just wen on an earlier time.

We just ended up going to the Pavilion Mall. It was a nice diversion, we just roamed around and bought some small stuff 😉. They were on sale.

In The Pavilion they also showcased the biggest Swarovski Crystal Christmas tree and during that time is the launching of the Swarovski Merry Go Round with 3 million Swarovski crystals on it. They also have some local celebrities but we just joined the crowd and enjoyed it.

My sister is good in what they call "blogger post". I tried also.

Godfrey Gao, famous Taiwanese-born Canadian actor and international supermodel.

We then proceed to their very own night cafe' in JALAN ALOR at Bukit Bintang.
This whole street is hosting a lot of Food stalls, seafood restaurants and other edible stuff to be served. A lot of people who work there will call out for you to sit on their stall and it is sometimes scary, so just be careful.

We went to a place where we found in youtube called W.A.W. Restaurant through Overnight show from Erwan Heusaff. The location is quite at the end of the street, the good thing is they don't call and forced you to sit to their place, they just let people on their own freewill. The following are the food that we ordered:

The next day we have to check it early to catch a flight to Siem Reap, Cambodia.

Kuala Lumpur is a small sized Dubai but still similar to the Philippines, it's a developing that people should see. It's a multicultural country with Malay's population mostly from Indian and Chinese origin. I would like to go back and have longer time to visit than just few days.

Below is our video montage for our short trip in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
